What is FindTheBest?
FindTheBest is a research engine that gives people all the information they need to research with confidence. We collect facts from the most authoritative sources so people don’t have to bounce from blue link to blue link on a search engine trying to gather and make sense of all the information.
We currently cover 2,000 topics from companies and colleges to members of congress and dog breeds and recently expanded to real estate, adding over 105 million for sale, foreclosed, and off-the-market properties. We’re the place to go when you need detailed information on just about anything.
Why did you expand to real estate?
Our mission is to collect, structure, and connect the world’s data so in many ways our expansion to real estate was inevitable. Although we have one of the largest structured data sets on the internet (we’re 155x larger than Wikipedia), you can imagine there’s still a lot left to gather.
It was the right time for real estate because buying a home is one of the biggest decisions a person makes in their life. It’s a vertical where incumbent offerings are very spec-focused, yet local information is just as important as square footage and lot size. We’ve amassed the broadest, most detailed database of contextual information relevant to a home (neighborhood, schools, weather, amenities) and all we needed was the property information.
When we were able to come to long-term arrangements with some of the most authoritative data providers
(CoreLogic and ListHub) it became a no brainer.
How are you different than Zillow, Trulia etc.?
Static data points like bedrooms, bathrooms, and price per square feet only make sense in context. Is this lot big or small? Is the price per square foot high or low? We attempt to put every key metric into perspective to help home buyers and sellers achieve true understanding of what makes a property unique.
They say “location, location, location”, and Homes also emphasizes everything that happens outside your front doors. We’ve amassed proprietary content on hundreds of local topics, and these form the basis of our product. Today we’re connecting detailed information about weather, neighborhoods, schools; and tomorrow we’ll be telling you things like whether the cell reception is any good and how many golf courses are nearby, and how this relates to other homes in that geography.
Finally, we’re in a great spot because our technology enabled us to enter the market for substantially less investment than our peers, which means we are structurally able to be friendlier to agents. We want to make it clear to the user who provided the listing, and in the meantime our product will be supported by display advertisement.
