Lennox Scott, chairman and CEO of John L. Scott Real Estate, said the Portland market <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/portland\/blog\/real-estate-daily\/2015\/09\/no-relief-in-sight-for-homebuyers-in-the-portland.html?ana=twt\">remains hot<\/a> and that there is plenty of competition among buyers. \u201cWe are virtually sold out in the price ranges where 90 percent of the sales activity is taking place. Buyers will need to be buyer-ready to be able to instantly react get a home in these price ranges.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to S&amp;P\u2019s home price <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spice-indices.com\/idpfiles\/spice-assets\/resources\/public\/documents\/252950_cshomeprice-release-1027.pdf?force_download=true\">index<\/a>, released in October, Portland-area home prices increase 1.1 percent between July and August this year \u2013 more than any other metro area measured.
